I did the crochet workshop in October and it was just what I needed. It was my first time trying crochet and by the end of the workshop, I felt I knew what I was doing.
It was really good value too: £50 for 2.5 hours of tuition, a book on crochet, a colourwheel to practice on in the workshop and four balls of yarn and a crochet hook to take home.

I just placed my first order with this lovely, family run company, and I am so impressed! I am not affiliated with this company in any way so this is a totally unbiased opinion! Here is what I loved about them!
1st, they sell the Addi Swing crochet hook, which is especially helpful for crocheters who have arthritis - like me! These hooks are made specifically to reduce strain on your hand while you crochet, and that is a winner in my book!
2nd, their selection of yarn is great! I love the colour packs of yarn, if you want to make a blanket or anything and need coordinating colours, they're ready for you and make it nice & easy!
3rd, they have a great selection of Stylecraft DK, which is my favourite yarn to work with. I got a bunch of these in coordinating colours to make a rose themed blanket. I got two shades of pink, two of green, two of blue, and lots of gold, which will go between each of the blocks of the above colours, and make up my border.
4th, the people who run Knit and Yarn are really friendly! Not at all pushy, they just want to help you get what you most want and are happy to chat if you have any questions. I really appreciate that, and I'm really happy to know my money is going to a friendly, family company rather than a massive corporation. I signed up to their email newsletter and I'm looking forward to receiving that.
I will definitely be shopping here again! I'll be getting the Addi hook in other sizes too. I bought a 4mm today because that is what I most commonly use, but there are a few other sizes I'd like - and a back up 4mm if one ever gets lost!
I highly recommend Knit and Yarn! They have lots of lovely other bits & bobs too, its a lovely website to browse on.read more
